AuthorsWiki : Do you briefly introduce yourself in your own words?
Jibril Mohamed Ahmed : My name is Jibril Mohamed Ahmed. I am an author, scholar, and a passionate advocate for social and global justice. My background in International Relations has led me to explore the intersections of global governance, foreign intervention, and their impact on the Global South. Growing up in Somalia, witnessing the consequences of foreign intervention firsthand, I have spent years studying and analyzing how Western hegemony has shaped the political and economic landscape of many developing nations. My latest book, ‘Broken Promises: Western Hegemony and Global Turmoil,’ delves deep into these issues, offering a critical examination of the promises of development and the realities that often fall short of those ideals.
AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what is your occupation for livelihood?
Jibril Mohamed Ahmed : Apart from writing, I work as a scholar and consultant in the field of International Relations and development. I’ve been involved in various projects related to governance, foreign aid, and political stability in Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on how external interventions impact local dynamics. My background also includes roles in academia, leadership, and advisory positions within organizations that aim to foster growth and development in communities affected by conflict and instability.

The book aimed to shed light on Somalia’s complex path toward democracy and offered a message of hope and resilience despite the ongoing struggles.
AuthorsWiki : Would you like to tell us about your published books?

AuthorsWiki : Where did you get inspiration for book publishing?
Jibril Mohamed Ahmed : My inspiration for publishing books comes from my personal experiences and academic journey, especially growing up in Somalia, a country deeply affected by political instability, foreign interventions, and global power dynamics. Witnessing firsthand the impact of these forces, I became deeply interested in understanding the root causes of these issues.
As I navigated the world of academia and international relations, I felt compelled to document the struggles, hopes, and challenges of nations like Somalia and others in the Global South. My goal has always been to shed light on the often overlooked consequences of global governance and Western policies. This drive, coupled with a desire to contribute to meaningful conversations on these critical issues, is what led me to write and publish books that challenge conventional narratives and offer new perspectives.
AuthorsWiki : How do you manage time to write a book?
Jibril Mohamed Ahmed : I manage to write by making a conscious decision to prioritize solitude in my free time. Writing requires deep focus, and I find that setting aside moments of quiet reflection allows me to gather my thoughts and immerse myself fully in the process.
Balancing other responsibilities with writing can be challenging, but carving out that personal time for creativity and research has become essential. By dedicating those quiet hours to my work, I can maintain the flow and momentum necessary to complete a book.
AuthorsWiki : What is your favorite writing method, in which you do the most writing?
Jibril Mohamed Ahmed : My favorite writing method is a blend of structured planning and spontaneous flow. I usually start by outlining the key points and ideas I want to cover in a chapter or section. This helps me stay organized and focused on the main themes. However, once I have the structure in place, I allow myself the freedom to write more organically, letting the ideas flow naturally.
I do most of my writing on a computer, but I also enjoy taking handwritten notes during brainstorming sessions or when inspiration strikes at random times. This combination of planning and free writing helps me stay productive while keeping the process creative.
AuthorsWiki : When did you start writing and how did your interest in writing begin?
Jibril Mohamed Ahmed : I started writing on September 27, 2018, when I published my first article in a journal. That moment sparked a deeper interest in writing, as I realized it was a powerful way to express my thoughts and contribute to important discussions. Since then, my passion for writing has only grown, and I’ve continued to explore various topics, particularly in international relations, global politics, and social issues. Writing became not just a hobby but a vital tool for sharing my perspectives with a wider audience.
AuthorsWiki : Special achievement in your life, which you would like to share with us and your readers too?
Jibril Mohamed Ahmed : One of my special achievements is startiny my PhD journey in August 2024 majoring in International Relations while balancing multiple responsibilities. This academic accomplishment reflects years of dedication and hard work, and it has significantly enriched my understanding of global politics and governance. Another notable achievement is the publication of my books, particularly “Broken Promises: Western Hegemony and Global Turmoil,” which represents the culmination of extensive research and personal reflection on critical global issues. These milestones are not just personal successes but also contributions to broader discussions about international relations and development.
AuthorsWiki : Are you planning to write or publish a book in the present or future?
Jibril Mohamed Ahmed : Yes, I am currently working on a new project that delves into the concept of a new world order system. This upcoming book aims to explore the evolving dynamics of global governance and the potential for a more equitable and inclusive international system. It’s an ambitious project that builds on the themes of my previous work and seeks to offer fresh perspectives on how global systems might adapt to emerging challenges and opportunities.
