Bhubaneswar, Odisha: The intellectually stimulating book “Secularism – Rashtra ke Viruddh ek Chhal” was officially launched on 27 December 2025 at a ceremony held in Bhubaneswar, drawing an audience of distinguished academicians and university leaders from across the country. The book, authored by Dr. Vipin Kumar Singhal and published by Prachi Publishing, delves into the contemporary discourse on secularism and its impact on national identity.
The launch event witnessed a gathering of senior scholars and educational administrators who graced the occasion with their presence, lending their support to the new publication. Among those present were Professor Kashinath Jena, Pro Vice Chancellor of KISS-DU, Bhubaneswar, and Professor Raka Arya, former Member of the 22nd Law Commission of India and Dean of National Law University, Bhopal. They were joined by Professor S.K. Swain, Vice Chancellor of Sikkim University, Gangtok, and Professor J.K. Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Lumami.
The ceremony also featured Professor Manoj Dixit, President of the Indian Political Science Association (IPSA) and Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, and Professor Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, who currently serves as General Secretary and Treasurer of IPSA. Professor Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, and Professor Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KISS University, Bhubaneswar, were in attendance as well. The event concluded with the presence of Professor Soma Bhowmick, Vice Chancellor of William Carey University, Shillong.
In his remarks, the author Dr. Vipin Kumar Singhal spoke about the motivations behind the book and the importance of engaging in meaningful dialogue on topics that shape the socio-political landscape of the nation. The publication has already generated interest among scholars and readers interested in socio-political studies.
