Amendments & Updates Policy

Last Updated: August 22, 2026

At AuthorsWiki, we believe that maintaining accurate and reliable information is an ongoing responsibility. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of our published content, errors or outdated information may occasionally occur. This Amendments & Updates Policy explains how we review and address credible concerns about factual inaccuracies and requests to update information published on AuthorsWiki.

1. What We Correct

AuthorsWiki may review and correct material factual errors, including incorrect names, dates, titles, publication details, author or publisher information, company details, quotations, attributions, or other information that can be reasonably established as inaccurate.

Where appropriate, we may also update information that has become outdated or add clarification when additional context is necessary for accuracy and reader understanding.

2. What Is Not Normally Considered a Correction

A difference in opinion, interpretation, literary judgment, or personal preference does not necessarily constitute a factual error.

For example, disagreement with the tone of an article, the opinion expressed in a book review, or an editorial interpretation will not normally result in a correction unless the content contains a verifiable factual inaccuracy or otherwise violates our editorial standards.

3. Who Can Request a Correction

Correction requests may be submitted by authors, publishers, contributors, readers, rights holders, organizations, or other individuals who have credible information regarding a potential factual error.

We encourage anyone submitting a request to provide reliable evidence or supporting information that allows our editorial team to properly assess the concern.

4. How to Submit a Correction or Update Request

A correction or update request should include:

  • The URL of the relevant page or article
  • The specific statement or information believed to be inaccurate
  • An explanation of why it is inaccurate
  • The proposed correction, where appropriate
  • Supporting evidence or a reliable source, where available

Correction requests can be submitted to support@authorswiki.com. Requests containing clear and verifiable information are generally easier for our editorial team to review.

5. How We Review Correction Requests

AuthorsWiki reviews correction and update requests based on the nature of the concern, the available evidence, and the reliability of the sources provided.

Where necessary, we may compare information with official websites, publisher or author information, public records, reputable publications, or other credible sources. We may also request additional clarification or supporting documentation before reaching an editorial decision.

Submitting a correction request does not automatically mean that a change will be made.

6. Possible Outcomes

After reviewing a correction request, AuthorsWiki may:

  • Correct the inaccurate information
  • Update the relevant content
  • Add clarification or additional context
  • Add a correction note where appropriate
  • Leave the content unchanged if the available evidence does not establish an error
  • Remove information that cannot reasonably be supported, where appropriate

The action taken depends on the nature and significance of the issue.

7. Corrections & Transparency

For significant factual corrections, AuthorsWiki may provide an appropriate correction or update note so readers can understand that the content has been materially changed.

Minor corrections, such as spelling, formatting, grammar, or non-material wording changes, may be made without a separate correction notice.

Where appropriate, published pages may also display publication or update dates to help readers understand the recency of the information.

8. Updates vs. Corrections

Not every change to an article is a correction. A correction generally addresses information that was previously published incorrectly, while an update may add new information, reflect developments, or improve the context of an existing article.

AuthorsWiki may update content when verified new or more relevant information becomes available, including information provided through an amendment or update request..

9. Editorial Independence

AuthorsWiki considers correction requests independently and does not guarantee that requested changes will be made.

A correction request should not be used to obtain favorable editorial treatment, remove legitimate criticism, alter an independent reviewer’s opinion, or influence editorial conclusions without a factual basis.

Our decisions are based on available evidence and applicable editorial standards.

10. Corrections to Reviews & Opinions

Book reviews, interviews, features, and other editorial content may contain legitimate opinions or interpretations.

AuthorsWiki may correct a factual error within such content, but disagreement with a reviewer’s opinion, rating, interpretation, or editorial judgment does not by itself require a correction.

11. Removal Requests

A request to remove content is different from a request to correct factual information.

Where a concern involves copyright, privacy, legal rights, or other removal grounds, the request may be reviewed under the relevant AuthorsWiki policy, including our Copyright Policy or Privacy Policy, where applicable.

12. Our Commitment

AuthorsWiki is committed to addressing credible factual concerns responsibly and transparently. We recognize that maintaining reliable content is an ongoing process and welcome constructive feedback from readers, authors, publishers, contributors, and other knowledgeable sources.

Our objective is to ensure that published information remains as accurate, relevant, and trustworthy as reasonably possible.
