At AuthorsWiki, we are pleased to feature Joshua Pohribnak (Poh+), an author from California, USA, whose first book, The Success Scrolls, grew out of a deeply personal motivation: helping his daughter navigate life’s challenges.
A military veteran with more than two decades of experience in the acquisition field, Joshua has worked across defense, education, and nonprofit sectors. His journey into book writing began with a desire to create something meaningful for his daughter—a resource that could offer guidance drawn from his own experiences and life lessons.
When his daughter encouraged him to share the book with others who might benefit from it, Joshua decided to publish it independently. In this AuthorsWiki interview, he discusses the inspiration behind The Success Scrolls, his approach to writing, his professional journey, and his hopes for the readers who discover his work.
AuthorsWiki: Apart from writing, what is your occupation for livelihood?
Joshua Pohribnak: I have worked in the acquisition field for over twenty years. My professional experience spans defense, education, and nonprofit organizations.
AuthorsWiki: Tell us something about your first book.
Joshua Pohribnak: I wrote The Success Scrolls for my daughter. Having faced many challenges in life, including mental health challenges, I wanted to create a book that summarized key areas of life and reflected lessons from my own experiences. My aim was to give her a resource she could always keep and turn to whenever she needed it.
AuthorsWiki: Would you like to tell us about your published books?
Joshua Pohribnak: The Success Scrolls is a guide designed to help people navigate life by exploring a variety of common topics that may be beneficial to them. Each subject includes my personal experiences, and the book also provides opportunities for readers to share their own experiences with loved ones.
AuthorsWiki: Where did you get the inspiration for publishing books?
Joshua Pohribnak: My primary inspiration was to create a resource that would always be available to my daughter. When she encouraged me to share it with others who might find it helpful, I decided to publish it for a wider audience.
AuthorsWiki: How do you manage your time to write a book?
Joshua Pohribnak: Whenever a topic came to mind, I put pen to paper and wrote from the heart.
AuthorsWiki: What is your favorite writing method—the one you use most often?
Joshua Pohribnak: I write from the heart.
AuthorsWiki: When did you start writing, and how did your interest in writing begin?
Joshua Pohribnak: I started writing books with this project. I had always been interested in writing, but The Success Scrolls was my first book-writing project.
AuthorsWiki: Is there any special achievement in your life that you would like to share with us and your readers?
Joshua Pohribnak: Being a father and husband, serving in the military before retiring, and founding Poh.World, a nonprofit organization, are important parts of my life.
AuthorsWiki: Are you planning to write or publish a book in the present or future?
Joshua Pohribnak: I would like to write an autobiography eventually, when I am older.
AuthorsWiki: Would you like to give a message to your readers and fans?
Joshua Pohribnak: Thank you for reading my book. It truly came from my heart, with the intention of helping my daughter and anyone else who finds it beneficial. The real joy of writing this book will come from knowing that it helps people, rather than from any financial windfall.
AuthorsWiki: Every writer has their own ideal. Do you also have an ideal writer? And what are your favorite books that you always want to read?
Joshua Pohribnak: I enjoy reading whatever interests me. I am not committed to any particular author or specific books.
AuthorsWiki: Apart from writing, what are your other hobbies that you enjoy in your free time?
Joshua Pohribnak: I enjoy sports, movies, music, and Broadway shows.
AuthorsWiki: Would you like to remain in the writing world in the future as well?
Joshua Pohribnak: Yes, I would.
