Gigi Nally lives in Greenville, South Carolina, with her husband, two dogs, and three cats. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found baking vegan banana bread, teaching a yoga class, writing—and, as she likes to say, gabbing—with her gal pals, or curled up with a good book in her favorite yellow swing.
Gigi graduated from Furman University with a B.A. in Communication Studies. A lifelong storyteller and creative at heart, she continues to balance her love of writing with her passion for yoga, reading, and spending time with the people and pets she loves most.
AuthorsWiki: Apart from writing, what do you do professionally?
Gigi Nally: I’m a full-time creative marketing professional, and I also teach yoga on the side. Both allow me to stay creative in very different ways, which I love.
AuthorsWiki: Tell us about your debut book.
Gigi Nally: My debut novel, The Split, comes out on March 3, 2026, and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s a post-apocalyptic romance and adventure novel.
Kota is a scrappy 21-year-old who would do anything to keep her family safe—including taking the dangerous job of running goods across zombie-infested South Carolina. But when she is kidnapped amid a crumbling truce between two hostile settlements, she quickly finds herself as a political pawn in a brewing war that could threaten the future of humanity itself.
A single wall divides Kota’s seemingly prosperous community from the anarchists on the other side. But when Jasper—Kota’s cunning and dangerously alluring captor—uncovers shocking truths about her home, everything she believes begins to unravel.
She expected Jasper to kill her. Instead, their fates become intertwined.
Forced to team up with the enemy settlement, Kota plunges into a shadowy world of secrets, subterfuge, and political machinations—all while fighting her growing attraction to Jasper. As tensions spiral toward war, Kota must decide where she truly stands.
AuthorsWiki: Do you have any other published books?
Gigi Nally: Not quite yet! The Split is my debut, so I’m very excited to finally be entering the world of published authors.
AuthorsWiki: What inspired you to write and publish books?
Gigi Nally: I’ll talk a little about the inspiration behind my debut novel. I was a huge The Walking Dead fan back in the day, but I felt like the female perspective was missing from a lot of post-apocalyptic fiction.
I wanted to explore what it would look like to have a young, strong woman at the center of a post-apocalyptic story. What would she struggle with? How would she navigate a world that had completely changed? How would her perspective evolve?
Those questions eventually became the foundation for The Split.
AuthorsWiki: How do you manage your time while writing a book?
Gigi Nally: I do my best to find little pockets of time throughout the day. I usually write for about half an hour before my workday begins. About once a week, my writing friends and I get together for an hour-long writing session after work.
On Saturdays and Sundays, I try to write for about an hour each day.
I’m definitely not perfect, and I’m not always able to squeeze in a writing session every single day. But I try to stay consistent. For me, consistency really is the key to making progress.
AuthorsWiki: What is your favorite writing method?
Gigi Nally: I’m definitely a laptop girly! I love using my journal for notes, ideas, and brainstorming, but my thoughts tend to move pretty quickly, so typing is the only way my fingers can keep up with my brain.
AuthorsWiki: When did you start writing, and how did your interest in writing begin?
Gigi Nally: The first story I ever wrote was about my brother becoming a Jedi. I was a very little kid—maybe five or six years old—and I’ve always been a huge Star Wars fan.
I still have that little journal somewhere in my memory box, which makes me smile. Since then, I’ve written countless stories and several books, and I know I’ll never stop writing.
AuthorsWiki: Is there a special achievement in your life that you would like to share with your readers?
Gigi Nally: Publishing my first book exactly one month before turning 30 is definitely one of my greatest achievements. It feels incredibly special to reach such an important milestone while also entering a completely new chapter of my life.
AuthorsWiki: Are you planning to write or publish more books in the future?
Gigi Nally: Absolutely! My debut novel, The Split, comes out on March 3, 2026, and I’m already planning to publish the sequel as well. I’m very excited to continue Kota and Jasper’s story!

Gigi Nally: Thank you for supporting my dream! Every bit of encouragement and every reader who takes the time to enter the world of The Split means so much to me.
AuthorsWiki: Every writer has someone who inspires them. Who are some of your favorite authors, and which books do you always return to?
Gigi Nally: I’m inspired by a whole host of authors, although my list is definitely an eclectic one! Emily Henry, Richelle Mead, Rachel Harrison, Brynne Weaver, and Cassandra Clare are among the writers I find incredibly inspiring.
AuthorsWiki: Apart from writing, what hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?
Gigi Nally: I love teaching and taking yoga—especially vinyasa—baking vegan treats, reading, and spending time with my husband.
AuthorsWiki: Would you like to remain part of the writing world in the future?
Gigi Nally: Wholeheartedly, YES! Writing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I can’t imagine ever giving it up. I’m incredibly excited to see where this journey takes me and to keep sharing stories with readers for many years to come.
