AuthorsWiki : Do you briefly introduce yourself in your own words?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : I am a storyteller, a builder of living worlds.

I don’t write to entertain… I write to awaken.

I created the Kingdom of Santa Claus in Italy both as a live experience and symbolic portal.

And I write books that span from children to adults (like Back to Magic) to help people remember who they truly are… through wonder.

AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what is your occupation for livelihood?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : I run, together with my family, the Kingdom of Santa Claus in Vetralla, Italy, a real, immersive experience where stories, music, characters and emotions come to life.

It’s free to enter, and sustained by the merchandise created from the stories I write.

Born from storytelling and vision, to me it’s a cultural act.

AuthorsWiki : Tell us something about the your first book?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : My first book, Ogni Giorno è Natale (Every Day is Christmas), is a guide book where every chapter is an essay about how to bring back wonder and meaning into everyday life.

It’s a small book, but it became the emotional foundation for everything else: stories, events, even the Kingdom.

AuthorsWiki : Would you like to tell us about your published books?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : The first one that comes to my mind is published by Gribaudo (Feltrinelli group) and it’s a wonderful illustrated book called Lucy and the Secret of Santalloween (yet to be released in English) a children’s fable about facing change with empathy.

And more are coming: stories designed to educate, inspire and transform.

AuthorsWiki : Where did you get inspiration for book publishing?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : From necessity. I didn’t want to be an author. I wanted to build a new space inside culture.

Stories were the only way to create something lasting, meaningful, and healing… not just entertaining.

My books are not products. For me, they are keys like evergreen fables are.

AuthorsWiki : How do you manage time to write a book?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : I don’t. For the moment, I still write in the margins: at night, between meetings, during travel, while the Kingdom runs. All I know is that when the story calls, time disappears. It’s like entering a different zone and there, it’s the book that is writing me.

AuthorsWiki : What is your favorite writing method, in which you do the most writing?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : I write by voice, emotion and intuition. I always begin from a lack… like the necessity to dress useful and universal meanings in wonder. Then, like a movie director I start envisioning a plot. The first draft is like a memory I need to recover. I decide if it’s a children or grown up content and start writing.

In the first case I can rely on the presence of all the original characters belonging to the kingdom of Santa Claus, like Lucy, Dr.Krampy, the Sfatichinis and so on… it’s a complete narrative universe. In the second case I bring the pass of my narration into the real world, so that grown ups che better mirror themselves… and then I blur lines between reality and magic!

AuthorsWiki : When did you start writing and how did your interest in writing begin?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : I started writing seriously during one of the most difficult moments of my life. Writing way more than a hobby to me, it was survival. I deeply wanted to remember something lost, and offer it back to others.

AuthorsWiki : Special achievement in your life, which you would like to share with us and your readers too?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : My greatest achievement is turning a small idea born in pain into a world that now touches hundreds of thousands of people.

Creating the Kingdom, with no investors, no brands, no shortcuts and seeing it become a cultural place of healing for families, is the deepest joy of my life. And this is just the beginning…

AuthorsWiki : Are you planning to write or publish a book in the present or future?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : Yes, I’m currently searching for the right international publisher for my most important manuscript. It’s called Back to Magic.

It’s a magical realism, cross-generational novel that blends reality and imagination, set between London and a mysterious place.
The story follows a disenchanted writer and his children as they rediscover the lost power of wonder not as fantasy, but as a real force that can change lives.

The book is already complete, with a full English translation and a feature film screenplay ready.

It’s not just a story… it’s the gateway to an entire narrative universe designed to heal, awaken and inspire.

I believe Back to Magic can become a cultural phenomenon because what it protects is not magic, but memory. I always dreamt of a story in the style of Mary poppins / wonka… able to talk to the child inside every adult and to the future inside every child.

AuthorsWiki : Want to give a message to your readers and fans?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : Never feel ashamed of wanting magic in your life.

Not fake magic, real wonder, real meaning.

If the world feels heavy, don’t escape… create.

We are all the guardians of what we used to believe in. And most of all… don’t escape into stories, do the opposite… make them jump inside you. They can teach you something everyday.

AuthorsWiki : Every writer has his own Ideal, do you also have an Ideal writer? And your favorite books that you will always want to read?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : I deeply admire authors like Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Coelho, Sergio Bambarén… all those authors whose books are not only great entertainment but also offer transformation.

I share a deep bond with the symbolic simplicity of The Little Prince.

AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what are your other hobbies, which you like to do in your free time?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : I love walking, running, playing the piano and compose music. I spend time with my wife and three children, observing how they dream. And I often sit in silence, letting my imagination show me the next step.

AuthorsWiki : Would you like to remain in the writing world even in future?

Giorgio Onorato Aquilani : Absolutely. Writing is not my job. It’s my way of staying connected to what’s true. Whether in books, scripts, or series, I’ll keep creating portals.

That’s my role in this world.
