At AuthorsWiki, we are delighted to connect with Preeti Chauhan, an Indian author and content creator from Haryana, whose debut book, She Can: A Book for Every Woman: For God, How Powerful She Is, is a heartfelt reminder of women’s strength, self-belief, and the courage to begin again.
Preeti’s writing is deeply connected to her own life experiences and her observations of women around her. Through her writing and reflective videos, she explores themes of emotional growth, self-belief, inner strength, and the importance of not losing oneself while caring for others.
Her debut book, She Can, speaks especially to women who have spent years fulfilling family responsibilities and, somewhere along the way, may have forgotten their own dreams, voice, and identity. Rather than simply offering motivation, the book encourages women to recognise that they are still capable, still powerful, and still allowed to choose themselves.
Preeti’s journey also includes an earlier chapter as the founder of a fashion designing institute, where she stepped beyond her regular responsibilities and built an identity of her own. Receiving a fashion and lifestyle award during that phase became a meaningful recognition of her efforts. Today, with her children grown up and studying abroad, Preeti has entered a quieter phase of life that has given her more space for reflection, writing, and creativity.
In this exclusive AuthorsWiki interview, Preeti Chauhan talks about her journey from homemaker and content creator to author, the inspiration behind She Can, her reflective writing process, the women who have influenced her, and why she believes it is never too late for a woman to choose herself.
AuthorsWiki: Apart from writing, what is your occupation for livelihood?
Preeti Chauhan: Apart from writing, I am a homemaker and content creator. For many years, my main role has been taking care of my family and managing home responsibilities. Along with that, I create reflective videos around women’s emotional growth, self-belief, and the second innings of life. Writing and content creation have slowly become a meaningful extension of my own journey, where I share thoughts that many women silently feel but do not always express.
AuthorsWiki: Tell us something about your first book.
Preeti Chauhan: My first book, She Can, is very close to my heart. It is written for women who have spent years taking care of everyone else and, somewhere along the way, have forgotten their own dreams, voice, and strength. The book is about self-belief, emotional courage, and beginning again at any stage of life. It is not just a motivational book; it is a gentle reminder to every woman that she is still powerful, still capable, and still allowed to choose herself.
AuthorsWiki: Would you like to tell us about your published books?
Preeti Chauhan: Yes, She Can is my first published book. It is a deeply personal and meaningful beginning for me as an author. The book is written for women who may have forgotten their own strength while fulfilling responsibilities and caring for others. Through this book, I wanted to remind women that their dreams, voice, and identity still matter. Since this is my debut book, it holds a very special place in my journey.
AuthorsWiki: Where did you get the inspiration for publishing books?
Preeti Chauhan: The inspiration came from my own life experiences and from observing many women around me. I have seen how women often give so much of themselves to family, relationships, and responsibilities that they slowly stop listening to their own voice. I wanted to write something that could gently remind them of their strength. Publishing She Can felt like a way to turn those thoughts into a message that could reach more women and encourage them to begin again.
AuthorsWiki: How do you manage your time to write a book?
Preeti Chauhan: I manage my writing time around my present stage of life. My children are grown up and studying abroad, so I now have more quiet time with myself. After completing many family responsibilities over the years, I feel this phase has given me space to reflect, write, and create. I usually write when the house is calm and my thoughts are clear. For me, writing is not only about discipline; it is also about using this new chapter of life meaningfully.
AuthorsWiki: What is your favourite writing method—the one in which you write the most?
Preeti Chauhan: My favourite writing method is reflective writing. I usually begin with a thought, a feeling, or a life observation, and then I slowly build it into a chapter or message. I do not write in a very mechanical way. I prefer to sit quietly, think deeply, and write from my honest place. Most of my writing comes from real emotions, lived experiences, and the silent thoughts that many women carry inside but may not always express.
AuthorsWiki: When did you start writing, and how did your interest in writing begin?
Preeti Chauhan: My interest in writing began quite naturally through my content creation journey. I did not start as someone who always planned to become an author. When I began sharing reflective thoughts through my videos, I noticed that people around me connected with those messages and appreciated the honesty behind them. Slowly, I felt that these thoughts should not remain only as short videos. They had the potential to become something deeper and more lasting. That is when the idea of writing my first book began.
AuthorsWiki: Is there any special achievement in your life that you would like to share with us and your readers?
Preeti Chauhan: One special achievement in my life was opening my fashion designing institute. It was a meaningful phase for me because it gave me the courage to create something of my own and step into an identity beyond my regular responsibilities. During that journey, I also received a fashion and lifestyle award, which felt very special because it was recognition of my effort and vision at that time. Even though that chapter eventually came to an end, it gave me confidence and taught me that a woman can begin again in different ways at different stages of life.
AuthorsWiki: Are you planning to write or publish a book in the present or future?
Preeti Chauhan: Yes, I do have plans to write more in the future. After publishing She Can, I feel there are many thoughts and experiences I would like to share, especially around women’s inner strength, self-belief, emotional growth, and the courage to begin again. I do not want to rush the next book, but I definitely have ideas in my mind. I would like my future writing to continue encouraging women to reconnect with themselves and live with more confidence and clarity.
AuthorsWiki: Would you like to give a message to your readers and fans?
Preeti Chauhan: My message to my readers is simple: please do not forget yourself while taking care of everyone else. Your dreams, your voice, and your happiness matter too. Life may not always give us the perfect time to begin again, but we can still take one small step towards ourselves. I truly hope my book reminds women that they are stronger than they think and that it is never too late to choose themselves.
AuthorsWiki: Every writer has their own ideal. Do you also have an ideal writer? And what are your favourite books that you always want to read?
Preeti Chauhan: I would not say that I have one ideal writer in the traditional sense. My biggest inspiration has always been my mother. I have seen her fulfilling her responsibilities with strength, patience, and quiet dignity throughout her life, and that has deeply shaped the way I look at women and their inner power. As a reader, I have mostly been drawn towards spiritual books and scriptures, including books like Shiva Purana. Those readings gave me reflection, faith, and a deeper understanding of life, which also influences my writing.
AuthorsWiki: Apart from writing, what are your other hobbies that you enjoy in your free time?
Preeti Chauhan: Apart from writing, I enjoy a very simple and peaceful life. I like reading spiritual books and scriptures, as they give me calmness and reflection. I also enjoy going for evening walks because walking helps me clear my thoughts and feel connected with myself. In my free time, I sometimes watch television and spend quiet time at home. I do not have fancy hobbies, but I find happiness in simple things—faith, reflection, and peaceful moments.
AuthorsWiki: Would you like to remain in the writing world in the future as well?
Preeti Chauhan: Yes, I would like to remain connected with the writing world in the future as well. Writing has given me a new way to express my thoughts and connect with women who may be feeling the same emotions silently. I may have started this journey later in life, but it feels meaningful to me. I would like to continue writing about women’s inner strength, self-belief, emotional growth, and the courage to begin again.
