At AuthorsWiki, we are privileged to have had the opportunity to connect with J.B Bozie, a Author from United Kingdom, whose unique voice and creative spirit shine through in their latest work, MISFIT: The Binjun Legacy. Their book, already making waves across leading platforms, invites readers into a world shaped by imagination, experience, and purpose.

J.B Bozie is a Ghanaian novelist who began writing on Wattpad. Her books gained a lot of visibility, some of which rose to top 10, with her crime novel Black Rose rising to #3 in crime. She is definitely a pioneer in African scifi-fantasy and mysticism as her books are different in the way they are told. Aside being a writer she is also a recent MBA graduate from the University of Northampton and a product of Central University (Ghana).

J.B hopes to see her books on screen soon and works really hard at what she does but what we love most about her is how passionate she is at mentoring others, and building a community for indie authors to support each other.

In this conversation, the author opens up about the deeper motivations behind their storytelling, their personal and literary journey, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way. Whether you’re a fan of thoughtful writing or someone looking to understand the creative process, this interview promises valuable insight and inspiration.

AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what is your occupation for livelihood?

J.B Bozie : Thanks for the opportunity to interview with you, first and foremost. I think it is amazing what you for for Indie Authors giving us an opportunity to sell ourselves with some support, so thank you. Back to my occupation, I work as an independent contractor freelancing most if the time but also with Charities to help fundraiser for events as a Brand Ambassador. I also work in Education as a SEN TA part time. I have always been passionate about supporting others and helping them overcome their difficulties especially in education.

AuthorsWiki : Tell us something about your first book.

J.B Bozie : Depends on what you mean by first book. My first story was written when I was around 8 but my first book was story titled “Enchanted” which was written at the same time stories like “The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Terabithia” were aired. And was very similar to them in the sense that kids find themselves in a strange world and find that they have been prophesied to bring restoration to the land.

Come to think of it I really should do something with that story soon as I believe it will make an amazing children’s book.

AuthorsWiki : Would you like to tell us about your published books?

J.B Bozie : Misfit is by far the only book published and tells the story of a girl who finds herself among a new civilization. Who have mastered skills like alchemy and seem to be in sync with nature. By living among them she learns about their ways and about a source of power called soul stone that preserves life and keeps all things in balance. The soul stone however is possessive in power giving its host a abilities that are unnatural.

However greedy people seek this power and with that greed comes destruction. Along the way this power source chooses her. She must find a way to protect what she loves and at the same time learn to keep this power in check before it consumes her and the entire world.

AuthorsWiki : Where did you get the inspiration for publishing books?

J.B Bozie : My inspiration for publishing came from the red tape around the world of publishing which I find very discouraging for creatives you know. Its disheartening to be a writer carrying worlds within you, worlds you want to share with others but just can’t because of unnecessary systems which make it difficult for people like me from my side of the world to even dream of becoming published authors. So that inspired me to step into the world of publishing and show others how to do it too.

AuthorsWiki : How do you manage your time to write a book?

J.B Bozie : I can only say it is by the good grace of God because honestly I don’t know how i do it myself. Haha.

I think it all comes down to having skills like time management and planning which I owe greatly to my time at the University of Northampton while pursuing my MBA. This was where I learnt that time management was actually something I needed to learn to get by my responsibilities as a student and as a worker as well.

AuthorsWiki : What is your favorite writing method — the one in which you write the most?

J.B Bozie : I love to write in books and type out. It just feels safer that way. Yh I am pretty old school. Also because ideas flow out of you anywhere and sometimes you don’t have a laptop on you. Writing on my phone is out of the question, it just doesn’t feel right to me. I don’t know how people do it to be honest but maybe it is a skill I must learn as well.

AuthorsWiki : When did you start writing, and how did your interest in writing begin?

J.B Bozie : Started writing at the age of 8, and I must add that my inspiration came from my brother. He was the reason I developed the interest to give writing a go. I have always loved books and I was always a reader even from such a young age but writing, I owe that to my brother who encouraged me to give it a try and even read my books and gave me amazing reviews even when they were not so great. He was my biggest cheerleader.

AuthorsWiki : Is there any special achievement in your life that you would like to share with us and your readers?

J.B Bozie : For me i will say being able to self publish. That means a lot to me and is a great achievement as I have always dreamed of publishing. I’m still so excited about being able to do that all by myself. I have come so far and honestly I am very proud of myself for being this consistent and watching my dreams manifest through my hard work.

AuthorsWiki : Are you planning to write or publish a book in the present or future?

J.B Bozie : Definitely! I’ve got 2 books scheduled to be released soon.

AuthorsWiki : Would you like to give a message to your readers and fans?

J.B Bozie : I don’t want to be that author or creative who becomes too pompous to reach out or respond to my readers or fans or any young writers who who need support. Definitely reach out to me if you need encouragement or someone on your ARC team. I will love to read your work!.

AuthorsWiki : Every writer has their own ideal. Do you also have an ideal writer? And what are your favorite books that you always want to read?

J.B Bozie : I’m a sucker for Sidney Sheldon books. I’ve perhaps read all his books. Also Michael Connely and Agatha Christie. These three never disappoint.

AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what are your other hobbies that you enjoy in your free time?

J.B Bozie : I love creating something. I also run a small fashion business where I make African inspired traditional bags and jewellery. I also create journals in my free time. Just finished one and I may just start on other but that all depends on you guys so do check out my books and journal.

AuthorsWiki : Would you like to remain in the writing world in the future as well?

J.B Bozie : Of course! My dream is to see my books on screen someday so I intend to me in the world of writing for a long long time.
