AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what is your occupation for livelihood?
BrookeLin Powers : Before becoming a published author, I competed as a top-ranked golfer and shared my passion for golf as a coach to hundreds of students from all walks of life. I’ve also worked in design, marketing, branding, and advertising. I enjoy having the opportunity to help people turn their ideas into something tangible they can use to help them soar towards their goals. What many readers may not know, is how much these experiences shape the way I approach storytelling.
AuthorsWiki : Tell us something about your first book.
BrookeLin Powers : As Alba and her new friends Gideon and Zoysia uncover the power of perspective, readers learn to build confidence, nurture kindness, and face life’s ups and downs with resilience and positivity. – Finding the Green of the Gulf (Book 1 of 9 in the Kids Golf Book Series)
AuthorsWiki : Would you like to tell us about your published books?
BrookeLin Powers : With cicadas falling from the sky, clouds that look like snacks, and distractions at every turn, Gideon’s focus is constantly tested. Staying focused feels impossible, especially when he starts comparing himself to Alba and his new friend Lauriel, until he discovers that true focus and self-belief don’t come from the world around him, but from the power inside. Readers learn that confidence and resilience grow from trusting yourself, sharpening your focus, and how you handle obstacles. The Secret of the Pinecone Path (Book 2 of 9 in the Kids Golf Book Series) will be publishing in Spring of 2026.
AuthorsWiki : Where did you get the inspiration for publishing books?
BrookeLin Powers : I experienced little hints that pointed me toward this path. Over time, the pieces began to fall into place, and I felt a clear sense that this was the right moment to pursue the entire process. As I wrote, the story naturally grew. What started as one book, became a series.
AuthorsWiki : How do you manage your time to write a book?
BrookeLin Powers : I learned what works best for me and my lifestyle, which helps me to balance my time in the most effective and impactful way while keeping the inspiration and progress flowing.
AuthorsWiki : What is your favorite writing method — the one in which you write the most?
BrookeLin Powers : My favorite writing spots are those touched by natural light. There’s a rhythm in that which helps ideas take shape and inspiration flow.
AuthorsWiki : When did you start writing, and how did your interest in writing begin?
BrookeLin Powers : I began writing as a child, and since then my writing style has evolved and developed to encompass a divergent body of works.
AuthorsWiki : Is there any special achievement in your life that you would like to share with us and your readers?
BrookeLin Powers : I’m honored to be an LPGA Professional, TPI Certified, award-winning author, as well as a designer who’s worked has reached millions of hearts and minds around the world thus far.
AuthorsWiki : Are you planning to write or publish a book in the present or future?
BrookeLin Powers : Yes! What started as one book, became a series. Over time, the series of books has expanded even further with elementary, teen, young adult, and adult nonfiction books coming soon.
AuthorsWiki : Would you like to give a message to your readers and fans?
BrookeLin Powers : I hope that readers feel inspired to observe, appreciate, and care for the natural world. For those that haven’t accepted the invititation to try golf yet, I hope that they feel encouraged to do so in the future. I also hope they take to heart the parables woven into each story, engaging their curiosity, mindfulness, and a sense of wonder at the small miracles around us.
AuthorsWiki : Every writer has their own ideal. Do you also have an ideal writer? And what are your favorite books that you always want to read?
BrookeLin Powers : This year, I’ve been revisiting the works of Jane Austen and Michael Crichton. Austen reminds me of the timelessness of character-driven storytelling, while Crichton’s work inspires me with his ability to weave complex ideas into engaging, page-turning narratives.
AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what are your other hobbies that you enjoy in your free time?
BrookeLin Powers : Design, art (abstract painting, photography, drawing, crochet, and more), fitness, gardening and baking alongside my dog surrounded by my inner circle are among the top.
AuthorsWiki : Would you like to remain in the writing world in the future as well?
BrookeLin Powers : Certainly! At present, with nearly a dozen chapter books written, I am still looking forward to publishing more work in the future that expand subject matters and genres.
