In my opinion, principles are those aspects of a person’s character with which we all move forward in life over time. Gold jewelry is something we wear on festivals or special occasions. It only enhances our outer beauty, but with principles, we journey on the path of self-discovery. For our elders, principles were like lines carved in stone, but times are changing now. Nowadays, people change with time and according to circumstances, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Because, if our principles make it difficult for someone else to live, then wouldn’t they feel like a punishment to that person? Yes, however, if our principles serve the welfare of society, stand firm with the truth till the end, and inspire others while giving them the strength to navigate the different phases of life—then never abandon such principles. Because they often enhance us like gold ornaments in the celebration of life, whose shine is reflected in the eyes of those who behold us. These are my thoughts. -Pallavi Deepak Mhatre (Maharashtra)
