At AuthorsWiki, we are privileged to have had the opportunity to connect with Tamera A. Khan, a Author from Trinidad & Tobago, Port of Spain, whose unique voice and creative spirit shine through in their latest work, unscripted. Their book, already making waves across leading platforms, invites readers into a world shaped by imagination, experience, and purpose.

Tamera is an author, creative theorist, and entrepreneur whose work explores creativity as both discipline and liberation. Known as the Grandmaster of Creativity, she operates at the intersection of psychology, systems thinking, spirituality, culture, and art, challenging conventional narratives around success, identity, and self-authorship.

She has pursued advanced learning and professional studies with Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of London, the State University of New York (SUNY), the University of California system, and the University of Pennsylvania, gaining academic exposure across creativity studies, science, human behaviour, and applied systems theory. Her education bridges formal institutional study with deep independent research, allowing her to move fluidly between scholarly rigour and lived experience.

Tamera is the creator of Unscripted, a book and creative methodology designed to be engaged with rather than consumed. Positioned as a psychological and creative tool, Unscripted invites readers to identify inherited scripts and consciously rewrite the narratives shaping their lives. The work resists traditional self-help frameworks, instead framing creativity as authorship, responsibility, and personal sovereignty.

As Grandmaster of Creativity, Tamera champions imperfection as intelligence, curiosity as discipline, and imagination as an essential human survival skill. Her philosophy resonates with artists, entrepreneurs, and independent thinkers who reject rigid systems in favour of self-defined paths. Beyond writing, she develops original intellectual properties and experimental media concepts that blend storytelling, technology, and cultural critique.

Rooted in Caribbean culture and informed by global intellectual traditions, Tamera’s voice is bold, incisive, and playful – balancing emotional intelligence with sharp structural analysis. Her work consistently questions authority while empowering individuals to reclaim agency through creation.

At the core of her philosophy lies a defining principle: life is not a script to follow but a medium to create.

AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what is your occupation for livelihood?

Tamera A. Khan : I am an professional forex trader and entrepreneur

AuthorsWiki : Tell us something about your first book.

Tamera A. Khan : My first book, Unscripted: Break Free from Societal Expectations, Creatively!, is a non-traditional book that consists of writing prompts, art prompts and challenges.

AuthorsWiki : Would you like to tell us about your published books?

Tamera A. Khan : I’ve only published Unscripted so far. However, its unique format makes it more engaging and interactive for readers to actively participate and remember what they’ve learnt.

AuthorsWiki : Where did you get the inspiration for publishing books?

Tamera A. Khan : I got my inspiration from the other authors’ books, like Keri Smith’s Wreck This Journal, and religious texts, such as the Bhagavad Gita and Mahabharata, because they speak about challenges we still face in the modern world today, and I find that very profound.

AuthorsWiki : How do you manage your time to write a book?

Tamera A. Khan : Proper time management along with breaks in between. I do not force myself to write when I do not feel like it. This is to avoid burnout and protect my mental health as well.

AuthorsWiki : What is your favorite writing method — the one in which you write the most?

Tamera A. Khan : Blurting on paper, to be honest. I find this effective for me because I can always circle back to an idea later. It also acts like a brain dump for new prompts or story ideas that I may want to use later on in my future books or stories

AuthorsWiki : When did you start writing, and how did your interest in writing begin?

Tamera A. Khan : I started writing in primary school and have been in love with writing ever since. In secondary school I also took advanced English and literature, which I quite enjoyed. During this time I also entered multiple writing competitions and won first place nationally.

AuthorsWiki : Is there any special achievement in your life that you would like to share with us and your readers?

Tamera A. Khan : Yes. This would be the publication of my first book, Unscripted. It’s amazing to bring the book from just a concept to reality. I worked very hard and my publishers also guided me as a first time author.

AuthorsWiki : Are you planning to write or publish a book in the present or future?

Tamera A. Khan : Yes, definitely. I am currently working on my second book. I will also be publishing books in multiple genres.

AuthorsWiki : Would you like to give a message to your readers and fans?

Tamera A. Khan : To everyone who’s reading this:

If your life has ever felt slightly off… like you’re doing all the “right” things but still feeling unfulfilled, disconnected, or quietly exhausted—there’s nothing wrong with you. That feeling is awareness knocking.

You were never meant to live on autopilot. You were never meant to shrink yourself into roles that don’t fit, chase definitions of success that don’t excite you, or wait for permission to become who you already are. The discomfort you feel isn’t failure—it’s friction between who you are and who you’re pretending to be.

Here’s the truth most people won’t say out loud: clarity doesn’t come before action. Confidence doesn’t arrive fully formed. You build both by choosing yourself in small, brave ways—by experimenting, questioning, creating, and trying again without turning your humanity into a crime scene.

You don’t need to be perfect to begin. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be honest about what no longer feels true.

Every time you choose curiosity over fear…
Every time you make something instead of waiting to be chosen…
Every time you listen to that quiet inner voice instead of the loud external noise…
You are rewriting your life in real time.

So take your time – but don’t take yourself out of the story.

You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are not late.
You’re early in your becoming.

Live creatively. Question deeply. Trust yourself more than trends, timelines, or titles. And remember – life isn’t something to follow.

It’s something to create.

AuthorsWiki : Every writer has their own ideal. Do you also have an ideal writer? And what are your favorite books that you always want to read?

Tamera A. Khan : I don’t have one single ideal writer—I’m more drawn to ways of thinking than to styles I want to imitate. I admire writers who challenge perception, disrupt inherited narratives, and invite readers to actively engage rather than passively consume. The writers who inspire me most are the ones who aren’t afraid to blur boundaries—between philosophy and story, psychology and art, the practical and the mystical.

I’m especially drawn to books that feel like companions rather than instructions—works that I can return to at different stages of my life and discover something new each time. I love books that question identity, freedom, creativity, and consciousness, and that leave space for the reader to co-create meaning.

Some of the books I return to often—or hold close—span philosophy, literature, and creative thought. I’m drawn to texts like The Bhagavad Gita for its timeless exploration of duty and selfhood, The Alchemist for its symbolic storytelling, and works that explore creativity and human potential in unconventional ways. I also appreciate writers who write with warmth and humour while still asking serious questions about what it means to live an authentic life.

More than anything, I value writing that reminds me to stay curious, reflective, and unscripted—books that don’t tell me who to be but encourage me to listen more closely to myself.

AuthorsWiki : Apart from writing, what are your other hobbies that you enjoy in your free time?

Tamera A. Khan : Apart from writing, I’m deeply curious by nature, so my hobbies often blur into exploration. I enjoy studying creativity across disciplines—psychology, science, technology, and spirituality—and noticing how they quietly shape everyday life. I love experimenting with ideas, building concepts, and imagining worlds across different mediums, whether that’s through visual storytelling, animation concepts, or creative frameworks.

I also enjoy spending time with art in all its forms, observing culture, and having long reflective moments where I can think, question, and recalibrate. On quieter days, I enjoy being present—listening to music, sitting with nature, or simply allowing my mind to wander without needing to be productive.

Above all, I enjoy curiosity as a practice. It keeps me grounded, playful, and open—and it’s often where my best ideas begin.

AuthorsWiki : Would you like to remain in the writing world in the future as well?

Tamera A. Khan : Absolutely. Writing isn’t just something I do – it’s a language I think in and a space I return to again and again. As I grow, the form may evolve, but storytelling and creative inquiry will always remain central to my work.

I see writing as an ongoing dialogue with the world and with myself – one that expands across books, ideas, and new mediums. Whether through future works, experimental formats, or projects that blend writing with other creative disciplines, I fully intend to remain in the writing world, continuing to explore, question, and create without restriction.

For me, writing isn’t a chapter that closes. It’s a lifelong practice.
