AuthorsWiki : When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : I was writing just for alleviation since 2006 but in 2013 I realized that my work should be published and I should recognize as writer.
AuthorsWiki : Would you like to tell about your published books, so that readers can know more about your books?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : Yes of course, DAABISTEGIRI Marathi collection of poems published in 2014, BEING Marathi collection of poems published in 2020, DYSTOPIAN UTOPIA English collection of poems published in 2021, I SEW MYSELF INTO THE WOMB OF SOIL English collection of poems published in 2025, WE SHOULD BAN TO BE CIVILIZED English collection of poems published in 2025.
AuthorsWiki : How did you become inspired to publish the book or someone inspired you?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : My family inspired me to publish books.
AuthorsWiki : Would you like to share your experience from writing to publishing process with the readers?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : My first book ‘Daabistegiri’ in Marathi language published in 2014. I was being rejected by publishers as I have experimented with language and form of poetry. It’s really unfortunate that even creative people don’t accept innovation and novelty with ease. Finally I published Daabistegiri by my own from one of the offsets where wedding cards are being printed. It was the worst experience of publishing so I quit after that but one of the poets Kamalakar Atmaram Desale who read my poems and insisted one famous publisher to publish my work. He was behind him for about two years to publish my work and in 2020 my work published by Arhan Book Smith.
AuthorsWiki : What is your first created literary work and how did you enter the literary world, tell about it?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : My first book is DAABISTEGIRI in Marathi language but it couldn’t recognize me as poet, the second book BEING was the book that gave me recognition as Marathi poet. As far as English book is concerned Dysto[pian Utopia gave me recognition, actually the poems in the book were already published on various online platforms and appreciated worldwide.
AuthorsWiki : In the literary journey so far, any such literary work has been liked the most by the readers, friends and family members?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : Yes, Both the books DAABISTEGIRI and DYSTOPIAN UTOPIA have been liked and loved most. Both are out of print now.
AuthorsWiki : Who among your friends or family or others gave you the most support during the writing of the book?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : My entire family encouraged and supported me during the writing the books.
AuthorsWiki : How many achievements / honors have you received from the literary world so far? Would you like to give their information?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : ‘Marathi Sahity Vangmay Parishad award, Badoda (Gujrat) for Marathi collection of poems BEING. Arun Kale Smruti Azadshatru Kavya purskar, Nashik (Maharashtra) for Marathi collection of poems BEING. Narayan Surve Utkrusht Kavya Nirmiti Purskar, Nashik, (Maharashtra) for Marathi collection of poems BEING.
AuthorsWiki : In which genre do you do the most writing? And is it easy to write in this genre?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : I am fascinated to write poetry, it’s an extension of my life. I also have written two Marathi novels and Three English novels which will be published very soon.
AuthorsWiki : How do you manage time for literary writing?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : I never intentionally steal time for literary writing, the spontaneity manages everything. It may seem awkward that anywhere, any time the lines of poetry come to mind like while delivering a lecture, while drawing , getting a meal etc.
AuthorsWiki : Where do you get inspiration for your literary works?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : The nature and innocence always inspire me to write.
AuthorsWiki : What is a special achievement or memorable event in your life that you would like to share with our readers?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : I have been being mocked socially in every phase of life, when I was extremely exploited and tortured by social norms I was on the edge of to finish my life, it was poetry that saved me.
AuthorsWiki : Every writer has his own ideal, do you also have an ideal writer? And your favorite books that you always love to read?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : The writings of Namdeo Dhasal and Arundhati Roy always fascinate me. Marathi book GOLPITHA , THE GOD OF SMALL THINGS and ZEN are my favorite books.
AuthorsWiki : Would you like to say something on the rise of Indian literature?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : It’s an optimistic atmosphere in India that most of the creative minds are seriously writing with loyalty and honesty. The youth really has potential to enrich Indian literature though some amateur writers are also there who are creating ambiguity in literature.
AuthorsWiki : Apart from being a writer, what other hobbies do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : Painting, explore new and unknown things.
AuthorsWiki : Are you planning to write or publish any book in future? If yes! So would you like to tell on which topic or theme the next book will be based?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : Yes, it’s a novel and the theme of the novel is life and its all strata are illusion.
AuthorsWiki : What advice would you give to new writers coming in the world of literature?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : They should write honestly with literariness selflessly. The objective of writing should be enrichment of literature. At least no writer should mix politics in the field of literature.
AuthorsWiki : Would you like to continue in the world of writing in the future?
Vijay Ashok Indushokai : Yes, undoubtedly.
